This middle/high school art course explores the evolution of Modern, Pop Art, and Contemporary art movements through both historical study and hands-on creative projects. Students will analyze key artists, techniques, and cultural influences that shaped each era while developing their own artistic voice through experimentation and personal expression.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the major characteristics and philosophies of Modern, Pop Art, and Contemporary art movements.
- Identify and analyze the works of influential artists from each period.
- Apply learned techniques to create original artworks inspired by studied movements.
By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of Modern, Pop Art, and Contemporary art movements and a portfolio of original works that reflect both historical influence and individual creativity.
Classes are held at Westfield Washington Public Library located at
17400 Westfield Blvd, Westfield, IN 46074.
Middle and high school classes meet 12:30-2 pm on Friday's.
