Art Techniques/Foundations Course Description
This course introduces students to a wide range of art techniques and mediums, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and technical skill development. Students will explore both traditional and contemporary art forms while learning to analyze and appreciate visual art. Through hands-on projects, students will work with various mediums including watercolor, colored pencils, and acrylic painting. Students will also learn about graphing artwork, working with fiber arts/felting, and developing ongoing artistic skills. Emphasis will be placed on creative exploration, craftsmanship, and building confidence in artistic expression.
* Please note this course will be different than the Session 2 art class that begins in March. Each session will cover different techniques and projects. We will not be repeating topics.
Course Objectives
- Develop foundational skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Understand and apply the elements and principles of design
- Experiment with various art materials and techniques
- Explore art history and cultural influences on artistic styles and applications.
This is an 8 week course. If you need an alternate schedule based upon traveling/vacation, etc., we can pro-rate the price for you. We also have sibling discounts. Either way, please email Michelle at artmakerystudio@gmail.com.
Class time is 1-3 pm at the Craft Room in Sheridan. The Craft Room is located at 516 S. Main Street, Door D, Sheridan, IN 46069
Class fee: $160.
